Toward AI for the Rest of Us
The Spark That Started It All
Nerval was born in April 2025 out of a simple but radical conviction: the world’s artificial intelligence revolution cannot belong only to the privileged few. It must speak in every language, echo every culture, and serve every community.
The idea came to life when two founders from very different worlds crossed paths. One came from the realm of software engineering and AI systems. The other brought decades of experience in international development, finance, and social impact. Together, they saw an enormous gap — one where billions of people, and hundreds of languages, were at risk of being left behind by the digital age.
That insight became action. Nerval was incorporated as a Delaware technology company with a global mission and a clear business focus: to build AI that is inclusive, sovereign, and scalable. From its earliest days, Nerval drew together a diverse team of data scientists, software engineers, social-media strategists, and development professionals. This fusion of technical excellence and social intelligence became the company’s defining DNA.
A Mission That Builds Futures
Nerval’s mission is to make artificial intelligence accessible, autonomous, and transformative for all. We pursue this through two tightly connected frontiers:
- Language Inclusion — Giving digital presence to languages historically excluded from technology.
- Sovereign AI Systems — Empowering small and medium-sized businesses to deploy AI solutions that protect their autonomy and drive productivity.

Building Voices, Building Presence
Our first flagship initiative, Palefò, was launched on July 16, 2025, as the world’s first large-scale Kreyòl text-to-speech (TTS) and speech-to-text (ASR) platform. We invited Kreyòl speakers across the globe to contribute their voices and texts — and the response was extraordinary.
In just three months, Palefò surpassed 350,000 high-quality voice-text samples, making it one of the fastest language-data mobilizations ever achieved for a low-resource language. The project captured attention across Haiti, the Caribbean, and the diaspora, landing on the front page of Haiti’s leading newspaper and igniting global conversations about language equity in AI.
Today, Palefò’s TTS engine is in beta testing — and already outperforming all existing AI Kreyòl voices in clarity, authenticity, and emotional tone. Its final release is only weeks away, alongside the launch of the ASR (speech-to-text) system, bringing Nerval’s sovereign-AI vision full circle for Haitian Creole.
Palefò’s proprietary algorithms and linguistic pipelines have also become the foundation for SpeakAI — Nerval’s scalable framework designed to replicate this success across dozens of other underrepresented and low-resource languages worldwide.
Partnering for Power: NVIDIA Inception
In September 2025, Nerval was selected by NVIDIA as an Inception Program partner — a milestone that marks our entry into a global community of elite AI startups shaping the future of technology. This partnership provides Nerval with unprecedented access to:
- Advanced computing power for model training and deployment
- Extensive cloud storage and processing infrastructure
- Specialized NVIDIA engineering resources and early-stage development tools
- A worldwide network of experts and investors dedicated to scaling AI innovation
Being part of the NVIDIA Inception Program has accelerated every aspect of our growth — from model optimization to international visibility — positioning Nerval to compete and collaborate at the highest levels of the global AI ecosystem.
From Proof of Concept to Global Platform
Building on Palefò’s success, the SpeakAI framework now serves as the blueprint for expanding Nerval’s mission to dozens of low-resource languages across Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Each new deployment strengthens the dataset ecosystem and advances our goal of an AI landscape that truly reflects human diversity.
In parallel, Nerval is developing Anaïse, a next-generation sovereign-AI platform for small and medium-sized enterprises. Anaïse will bring the power of advanced language models and automation tools directly to the business sector — helping organizations with limited resources everywhere boost productivity, cut costs, and maintain ownership of their data and decisions.
An Expanding Ecosystem
Nerval continues to grow through collaborations with academic and research partners, including teams at Cornell University, where researchers and students have contributed to both technical development and user-experience studies. These partnerships bridge cutting-edge science and real-world application — reinforcing Nerval’s role as a builder of inclusive, applied innovation.
Looking Ahead
The future Nerval is building is ambitious and clear. In early 2026 we will complete Palefò’s TTS, Translator App, Assistant App, and ASR roll-outs, and begin to expand the SpeakAI framework to new languages. By the middle of 2026, the Anaïse platform will reach early adopters, setting a new standard for business-grade, locally-owned AI.
